Eligibility Requirements for Recipients

 

Local Agencies

To be eligible for a grant from UJF, the requesting organization must:

  1. Be located in Greater Stamford, New Canaan or Darien or in Fairfield County serving our constituents.
  1. Be a Jewish agency with a mission that reflects the values of the UJF mission.
  1. Be a 501(c) (3) not for profit entity.
  1. Have a fully functional independent board structure with at least one meeting per year documented by proper minutes.
  1. Have an independent annual audit. If too small to afford this, it must have transparent books kept in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  1. Accept UJF’s method of giving.
  1. Cooperate with the UJF campaign by encouraging its board and members to participate in the UJF annual campaign.

 

  1. Acknowledge in its publicity, brochures website and physical site that it receives support from UJF for the duration of any existing grant or allocation, all in accordance with UJF’s guidelines.
  1. Not be currently subject to legal (criminal or civil) or regulatory actions related to mismanagement.

 

International, National and State-wide Agencies

To be eligible for a grant from UJF, the requesting organization must:

  • Have a mission reflective of UJF’s values and mission
  • Serve the needs of our global Jewish constituency
  • Adhere to 2-5, and 8-9 above.
