The Behrend Institute for Leadership is a program that takes place over the course of the academic year. The multi-faceted experience is designed to prepare graduates for leadership roles within the organizations which nominate them for the program, and for community-wide positions of leadership in Fairfield County.

The institute was developed, and continues to be, a program of Federation in partnership with local synagogues and Jewish agencies. The Behrend Institute for Leadership is offered at no cost to participants as a result of a generous grant provided by community leaders Stephne and Kerrin Behrend.

If you have ever considered a leadership role in your synagogue or agency, or are unaffiliated with any one organization but still feel you have the potential to become a leader of the Jewish community, Behrend Institute for Leadership is the perfect place for you to acquire or hone the skills necessary for lay leadership positions in the Jewish community.
