Charity begins at home, which is why Federation is dedicated to training Fairfield County’s Jewish leaders and philanthropists of tomorrow.

Thanks to the generosity of the Kuriansky Family Foundation, the Kuriansky Teen Tzedakah Corps is a leadership program designed to instill teenagers with the knowledge and skills they need to become community leaders and philanthropists.

Corps members meet one Sunday each month to learn about the fundamentals of leadership and Jewish values related to philanthropy and conduct a full grant allocation process. These teenagers learn by doing—instilling them with a sense of confidence, dedication, and commitment to their Jewish community.

NEW DATES COMING SOON

TEEN VOICES - LIAV VADEL

What a moving experience! I am Liav Vadel and over the last three months, I have had the pleasure of participating in the Kuriansky Teen Tzedakah Corps program with UJF. Through this program I have not only had the joy of giving tzedakah but I embarked on a journey of learning the importance of helping those in need and doing what is right.

The Kuriansky Teen Tzedakah Corps is a program where Jewish high school students such as myself gather to learn about tzedakah and then proceed to research organizations that can effectively use funding to help people in Israel who are in need.

We then have the opportunity to donate to a few different organizations. Not only is the Kuriansky Teen Tzedakah Corps program something meaningful for any student’s upbringing, but it really teaches us gemilut chasadim!
