Digital Campaign Against Antisemitism
Thanks to the grassroots efforts of a dedicated group of local volunteers, the Digital Campaign Against Antisemitism was launched in December 2023 to raise awareness about the rise of antisemitism following the tragic events of October 7. Sponsored by United Jewish Federation, this initiative features billboards along I-95 in Connecticut with rotating ads promoting pro-Jewish and pro-Israel messages. These billboards have generated millions of impressions, with the campaign being spotlighted by both the Times of Israel and Jewish Federation of North America for its impact.
Community Shlicha (Israeli Emissary)
Through a partnership with the Jewish Agency for Israel and our Federation’s Israel and Overseas Committee, our community hosts a shlicha, or emissary, to strengthen Fairfield County’s connection to Israel. The shlicha provides educational programming, advocacy, and serves as a bridge between Israel and our local community, engaging both Jewish and broader audiences.
The Afula-Gilboa Region
United Jewish Federation collaborates with 10 other Federations in the Southern New England Consortium (SNEC) to invest in the Afula-Gilboa region in Northern Israel. This partnership through Partnership2Gether, a Jewish Agency for Israel initiative, makes a meaningful difference in the lives of children, women, and at-risk youth in the region. It connects diaspora Jews with Israeli communities while providing crucial financial support.
Ukraine Relief
Federation acted swiftly when Russia attacked Ukraine in February 2022. With our infrastructure in place, we launched a campaign that raised $400,000 from our community to provide humanitarian aid. Thanks to these generous donations, we were able to charter flights to bring Ukrainian refugees to Israel, giving them a new start. Our contributions also supported relief efforts in neighboring countries across Eastern Europe.
