UJF Reading Partners Celebrates Twenty-Six Years

The United Jewish Federation of Stamford, New Canaan, and Darien Herbert and Sarah M. Gibor Reading Partners program marked 26 years with a May gathering of volunteers, teachers, and supporters. Over 60 people enjoyed a festive breakfast in recognition of their dedication. The guest speaker, Daryl Cobb, a multi-talented children’s author, storyteller, singer/songwriter, and school assembly performer, had everyone taking part and singing.

Former UJF Reading Partners Director Lenore Fogel said, “I consider it an incredible honor to have collaborated with our volunteers over the past years to help encourage and support a love of reading in Stamford’s children. Being able to read opens the door to all possibilities.”

Reading Partners is a program that pairs volunteer reading tutors with children in grades K-3, one hour a week, at local Stamford public schools and community centers.
