Four generations of our family have enjoyed and benefited from living in Stamford. Three generations met their spouses because of Federation-related activities and who knows, maybe our granddaughter, Scarlett will someday make it four!
The first generation, Beverly and Stanley Ferber, moved to Stamford in 1967 and became involved in Jewish life and by example taught their daughters, Caryl and Stacy, to embrace their responsibility to Judaism and community. Caryl and I met through the Young Leadership Program at New York UJA. We moved to Stamford in 1989 becoming the second generation of active community members, joining Temple Beth El and becoming involved with the Jewish organizations that support Jewish life. Having served on numerous boards and committees throughout the years we now proudly watch the third generation, our children, Ariel and Stephen Bedik, becoming active board members committed to Jewish life in Stamford.
My father-in-law told us when we moved to Stamford “If you want to live in a Jewish community you have to actively support the Jewish community.” Life & Legacy allows us the opportunity to continue that support well beyond our lives and for generations to come.
