United Jewish Federation’s (UJF) PJ Library will be hosting “ Wacky Wednesdays” all month long in July. Formerly called “Popsicles in the Park,” UJF will bring PJ Library activities (and lots of ice cold popsicles) to four community parks around Stamford, as part of Federation's summer outreach.
PJ Library books are sent free of charge to over 600 children in over 400 households throughout the towns of Stamford, New Canaan, and Darien. The books are funded by two local donors and arrive in homes monthly. Wacky Wednesdays and other PJ programming throughout the year provide opportunities for families with young children to expand their circles and meet like-minded Jewish families. These free and informal summer gatherings are a great way to meet other parents and for kids to let off some steam on long summer days. The program will not be held if it is raining.
Each week will feature a surprise guest reader.
The first program on July 10 will also include a puppet show by UJF Community Shaliach Yoav Yaron, designed to teach children some summer- themed Hebrew words. This will be Yoav’s last community program before he returns home to Israel. Families are welcome to bring picnics and stay as long as they’d like.
