United Jewish Federation of Stamford, New Canaan and Darien (UJF) is pleased to invite the entire community to a discussion of the current Israel situation with Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Conricus, former Israel Defense Forces (IDF) international spokesperson. This informative and highly anticipated event will take place on June 24 at 7:30 pm at Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy (BCHA), 2186 High Ridge Road, Stamford. A pre-event reception will be held for sponsors and UJF major donors.

Lt. Col. Conricus will speak to the attendees about the current situation in the Middle East and his experience as an IDF international spokesperson. He will discuss the challenges the IDF faces and the opportunities they have, including counterterrorism, the current conflict, and how they’re regarded in international media.

In more than 20 years of military service, Conricus held various positions in infantry, international relations and military diplomacy. His service also included being the first IDF officer to be seconded to the United Nations, serving in the UN Peacekeeping Operations Office of Military Affairs in New York. As the International Spokesperson of the IDF, Conricus was responsible for the IDF’s international traditional and social media operations, public affairs and public diplomacy. Conricus is currently a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.  He also heads Conricus Communications, which focuses on strategic communications, public relations, crisis management, and media training.

“UJF is proud to be a source of continuous education and engagement, especially since October 7, 2023, when we heard from you, our community, that this was needed. I am so grateful that UJF has the opportunity to host Jonathan Conricus,” remarks Diane Sloyer, UJF CEO. “He continually provides his followers with tremendous insights. I hope the community will make every effort to attend and learn about the Israel situation from Jonathan.”
