Each year, United Jewish Federation of Stamford, New Canaan and Darien (UJF) is proud to help local families send their children to Jewish overnight camp for the first time, an experience that often creates lasting friendships, memories, and a stronger connection to Jewish identity. This is made possible through a partnership with the One Happy Camper program.
Powered by the Foundation for Jewish Camp and supported by local federations, One Happy Camper provides need-based grants of up to $1,000 to families whose children are attending an accredited, nonprofit Jewish overnight camp for the first time.
Over the past four years, thanks to generous support from UJF and the One Happy Camper initiative, nearly 40 children from the community have had the opportunity to attend overnight camps across North America.
This program is designed specifically for children who are new to overnight camp and are not enrolled in Jewish day schools. The goal is to open doors for campers to explore their Jewish identity, culture, and values in a fun and engaging environment. Campers immerse themselves in Jewish learning through music, dance, art, Israeli culture, and meaningful experiences that help shape who they are and who they may become.
It is not too early to think about summer, 2026! To learn more about eligibility and to see a full list of participating camps, visit www.Jewishcamp.org/one-happy-camper or contact Lara Agatstein at Lara@ujf.org
