Schoke Jewish Family Service will create a mobile counseling and case management program that will bring services to those who cannot leave their homes either temporarily or permanently. The clients will be served in their home by licensed Social Workers and therapists and receive the same high level of care.
As the baby boomer population continues to age and expand, SJFS is recognizing the need to provide in-home services to seniors and the disabled to allow them to age in place and remain in their own homes.
Seniors and the disabled experience loneliness, physical maladies and grief as friends and loved ones die, leading to depression, anxiety, and often resulting in placement in nursing homes. For many reasons, including mobility issues, depression and physical/limitations, many people are unable to leave their homes to receive appropriate care.
