Shabbat Across Stamford, New Canaan and Darien is an annual gathering of our local Jewish community centered around Shabbat.  United Jewish Federation works in conjunction with the Board of Rabbis and a volunteer committee to bring the community together to celebrate Shabbat.  Shabbat Across America and Canada was originated by the National Jewish Outreach Project.

On Friday night, February 28, 2020, hundreds of synagogues across the continent, including Stamford, New Canaan and Darien will take part in an historic national Jewish event to celebrate what unifies all Jews — Shabbat! Everyone is invited… singles, couples, families — all ages.

By participating in this continent-wide event, our community will not only experience Shabbat, but will be sharing the experience with tens of thousands of Jews across North America.

No matter what your affiliation, this program will give you a “taste” of Shabbat, as well as the opportunity to spend the evening with like-minded people, friends and family.

While many synagogues and Temples participate throughout North America, the Stamford, New Canaan and Darien Jewish community is one of a few  successfully joining together, under one roof to celebrate Shabbat.
