Carmel Academy is a community day school committed to innovation and excellence in general and Judaic studies. Serving students kindergarten through eighth grade, CA is unaffiliated and inclusive, drawing students from all major branches of Judaism.
Located on a historic, 17-acre campus in the heart of Greenwich, CA attracts students from Fairfield and Westchester counties. Class size is kept small, with both a general and Judaic studies teacher per class in the elementary grades, and discipline-specific teachers in the middle school. All classrooms are technology-equipped with smartboards, multiple personal computers and wi-fi access. Middle school students enjoy the benefits of each having their own laptop. CA’s unique curriculum integrates examples from Judaic and secular cultures, and boasts an innovative study of Jewish text. Children enjoy a wide-array of extracurricular activities and sports teams, as well as cutting-edge enrichment programs.
As part of CA's commitment to providing a meaningful Jewish day school experience
for all children, the school offers a special education division for children with language-based learning disabilities. P.A.L.S. (Providing Alternative Learning Strategies) gives children with special needs the tools to maximize their academic potential, while at the same time affording them the myriad benefits of a Jewish education.
CA is a community as well as a school, dedicated to supporting and enriching the lives
of our students, families and staff. Nora Anderson, Head of School, welcomes all inquiries.
