BBYO is a youth led, pluralistic Jewish youth organization that is comprised of BBG for girls and AZA for boys. Stamford hosts both a BBG (Tikvah Chapter) and an AZA (Leviticus Chapter). Meetings are held every other Monday night at 7:00 pm at the Jewish Community Center of Stamford. Both groups meet to discuss past and upcoming events and have programs both separately and co-ed. These programs include community service projects, social action discussions, incoming speakers, social meetings and dances, sports activities, fraternity/sisterhood programs, and Judaism awareness/heritage programs.
Membership dues are $75 per year, which allows one to attend programs and provides a discount on regional activities. There are 14 local chapters throughout Connecticut and Western Massachusetts that comprise the Connecticut Valley Region. Throughout the year, there are regional events, dances, conventions, as well as social action programs which allow Jewish youth to build friendships all over the state.
